The Certification and Inspection Department (DZC) is a unit of the Institute of Power Engineering providing services:
- certification - in the scope of assessing compliance with the normative documents of electrical power products, in the structure of the Certification Body
- inspection - supervises the tests of the electrical power products within the Inspection Body.
The team has been operating on the Polish power energy market since 1969.
There are two conformity assessment units in the DZC, accredited by the Polish Center for Accreditation (PCA):
- Certification Body No. AC 117, from February 4, 2005
- Inspection Body type A, No. AK 037 from December 17, 2021
Both conformity assessment bodies operate as a third party, are impartial and independent from interested parties.
Conformity assessment is offered in the field of products for use in the power industry, which include such products as: instrument transformers, power cables and wires with accesories, insulators, electrical equipment (including: fuses and fuse-links), transformer substations, low-voltage and high-voltage switchgear and controlgear, transformers and reactors , devices for power transmission and distribution networks (including: insulated power cables for overhead lines and their accessories - surge arresters, ipc, clamps).
Certification and inspection activities are carried out in Poland and other countries. Conformity assessment is carried out according to the normative documents of PN, CENELEC, IEC, ANSI/IEEE and international energy concerns (ENEL, ENEDIS).
- Certificates of conformity issued by the IEn Certification Body are recognized by recipients in Europe and in the world (agreement within international organizations IAF MLA, EA MLA).
- Thanks to the supervision of representatives of an accredited Inspection Body, non-accredited tests are recognized as accredited in product conformity assessment processes in Europe and in the world (agreements within international organizations ILAC MRA and EA MLA on mutual recognition of test results).
- IEn Inspection Body – is the first accredited inspection body in Poland in the field of supervision over testing of electrical power products.
The Certification and Inspection units operate within the framework of implemented management systems compliant with the relevant standards:
- Certification Body - PN-EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013-03 "Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services”
- Inspection Body - PN-EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 "Conformity assessment - Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection”
Employees of the Team participate in the development of standards and other standardization documents through activity in many Technical Committees of the Polish Committee for Standardization (PKN):
- Cables and Wires, Electrical Installations and Lightning Protection of Buildings, Electrical Installation Equipment, Relays, High-Voltage Switchgear and Control, Low-Voltage Switchgear and Control, Isolators, Energy Transformers, as well as in the Polish Committee of Large Electricity Grids – CIGRE and in the Polish Committee of Lightning Protection – Polish Society of Electrical Engineers (SEP).
The head of the Certification and Inspection Body is M.Sc.Eng. . Dariusz Zienkiewicz, and the Deputy Manager is M.Sc.Eng. Marcin Pacurkowski.
