The fifth edition of the Prof. W. H. Nernst Scientific Award for scientific and technical achievements related to electrochemical processes has been resolved!

By decision of the Award Committee, chaired by Prof. Konrad Świerczek, (Faculty of Energy and Fuels, AGH UST). The winners of this year's edition of the Competition are:

Katarzyna Siuzdak, PhD, Eng., Prof. IMP PAN (Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery, Polish Academy of Sciences) in the Technical Achievement category: Development of a method for manufacturing and modifying ordered layers of nanotubes, including on a translucent substrate, for electrical energy storage and conversion devices using a pulsed laser beam;

Tomasz Kosmala, PhD (Institute of Experimental Physics, University of Wrocław) in the Scientific Achievement category: A new method of recording in operando the electroactivity of individual atoms - the key to progress in the development of hydrogen catalysts;

Olaf Dybiński (Institute of Thermal Technology, Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology) in the Practical Achievement category: Electrolyte regeneration in a carbonate fuel cel.

The awards will be presented on 25 September during the VI Distributed Energy Forum in Krakow.

Congratulations to the Winners!

The scientific awards of the Warsaw University of Technology and the Institute of Power Engineering (Institute of Power Engineering - Research Institute) are annual individual awards granted for significant scientific, technical and practical achievements related to electrochemical processes. The prizes are awarded to Polish researchers or foreigners employed in Poland who are under 50 years of age. Prizes are awarded in 3 categories: scientific achievement, technical achievement and practical applications of electrochemical processes, including implementation. One prize may be awarded in each category.
