On Friday, February 16, the kick-off of the project Alternative solution for alloy additives: advanced protective coatings of low-cost steels using solid oxide electrochemical cell stack technology, financed by the National Science Center under the OPUS 25 program, took place in Warsaw.

This four-year project will be implemented by the Center for Hydrogen Technologies (CTH2), the Institute of Energy - National Research Institute and the Department of Functional Materials Engineering, Gdańsk University of Technology. The project manager is Dr. Yevgeniy Naumovich, prof. IEN-PIB, employee of the Department of High-Temperature Electrochemical Processes. The project aims to develop new protective coatings for steel components of solid oxide cell stacks - interconnectors based on widely available steels. The implementation of the project will contribute to the development of energy (and heat) and hydrogen production systems based on SOC, as well as to expanding knowledge in the field of electrochemistry and materials engineering.
