VULKANO project meeting

The partners of VULKANO project met in Rome the second week of December 2018 in Rome (RINA facilities) to share the activities carried out during the three years of life of VULKANO, as well as to plan the next year 2019 which will be the last execution. From this meeting, it is remarkable the great collaboration between the partners, the demonstration leaders and the solution developers, in order to address the technical challenges that the consortium must face in the coming months.

XIth conference "Renovations and Maintenance in Power Engineering" in Licheń

On November 28-29, 2018, the XIth conference "Renovations and Maintenance in Power Engineering" was held in Licheń. Scientific patronage over the conference was held by IEn's Thermal Technology Branch „ITC” in Łódź. The Director of ITC IEn, Jacek Karczewski (PhD), chaired the session on the modernization of power plants, he also took part in the debate of experts "Property management during changes".

Application of high-temperature electrolysis based on constant-oxide electrochemical cells (SOC) in P2X systems

12th annual CEEC 2018 conference in Bratislava

On the 18-20th of November 2018 there was held the 12th annual CEEC 2018 conference in Bratislava, organised by the Slovak Foreign Policy Association. Organizers invited Prof. Tomasz Gałka, the director of the Institute of Power Engineering who presented achievements of the Institute during the Research and Innovation in Energy session, in particular in the field of low-emission combustion and hydrogen technologies.

Marek Skrzypkiewicz was granted a PhD

2018 / 11 / 28

On the 8th of November 2018 Marek Skrzypkiewicz defended (with honors) doctoral thesis in Power Engineering, obtaining a PhD from the Faculty of Energy and Fuels, AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, Poland. He is an active researcher at the Institute of Power Engineering's Department of High Temperature Electrochemical Processes (HiTEP).

The 5th International Scientific Conference on Decisions in emergency situations

On November 21, 2018, the 5th International Scientific Conference on Decisions in emergency situations took place. The conference was organized by Tadeusz Kościuszko Land Forces Military Academy in Wrocław and one of five co-organizers - the Institute of Power Engineering. Among the members of the Scientific and Program Committee of the Conference were Tomasz Gałka (PhD), director of the Institute of Power Engineering and prof. Jacek Wańkowicz, director's scientific advisor.

Meeting of EERA Executive Committee in Brussels

On October 31, 2018, the next meeting of the European Energy Research Alliance EERA was held in Brussels. The meeting was attended by members of EERA Executive Committee representing the largest research centers in the area of energy from 15 European countries. The Institute of Power Engineering, represented by Andrzej Sławiński (PhD), deputy director of IEn for cooperation and development.
