ACTIVITIES

Institute of Power Engineering performs, among others, the following works:

  • In-field direct measurements and theoretical analyses of processes undergoing in high-voltage and medium-voltage power networks during steady-state and transient operation, caused by switching operations and shorting interferences.
  • Implementation of synchronized switching systems for shunt capacitor banks, transformers, reactors etc.
  • Selection of neutral point operation mode in medium-voltage distribution networks.
  • research and analysis of electrical transitional processes occurring in the electroenergetic networks MV and HV,

  • testing of the overvoltage protection effectiveness of various devices in the primary and secondary circuits of electroenergetic systems,

  • testing of the effectiveness of the people shock protection in high-voltage electrical installations,

  • direct methods electrical quanities measurements in professional and industrial electroenergetic networks,

  • analysis of the theoretical and simulational established, a quasi-established and unestablished states in electroenergetic networks, caused by various connection operations and shortcurcuit interferences,

  • operating conditions and technical status assessment of the electroenergetic devices installed in the MV and HV networks (electroenergetic audit, diagnostics),

  • tests of the isolation of devices and electroenergetic equipment for voltage to 400 kV by stroking thounderous voltage and connecting voltage and 50 Hz alternating voltage on dry and under artificial rain,

  • measurements of radioelectric interferences in equipment and apparatus of lines and electroenergetic stations on voltage 110 and 400 kV,

  • tests of resistance to thunder of aircrafts and teletransmission cables with glass fibres,

  • all types health and safety equipment tests to voltages from 1 to 400 kV,

  • analyses and assessment technical parameters of electroenergetic devices such as insulators and their chains, cables and cable accessories, OPGW cables, etc.

  • tension research in elements under quasi-static and dynamic load,

  • setting up microprocessor securities in power plants and stations,

  • new solutions in securities construction,

  • designing of automation security circuits in power plants and stations,

  • analysis of security operations during the failure,

  • carrying on lectures and courses to improve professional knowledge in the field electroenergetic automation security.
